Data Centre Specialist Group

After much input from around the world, the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres will be launched on the 19th November 2008. Having been developed over the last 2 years and been reviewed and refined by a wealth of industry experts from both data centre owners and operators as well as equipment vendors, the code has become regarded as 'The' source of information with respect to running an energy efficient data centre.

Anson Wu of MTP and Liam Newcombe of the DCSG have recorded a webinar introducing the Code with the Grid Computing Now! KTN which you can watch here in Windows Media format or Flash Player.

A number of operators, including DCSG members, have already implemented many of the best practices from earlier drafts and will become the first signatories to the code upon completion of their implementation. The Code is already becoming a supplier selection criterion and has developed a broad range of support across industry.

The DCSG will be announcing plans in the near future to help its members understand and implement the code in their facilities.
