We have posted the presentations from the July members meeting in the repository for download.
Paul Elliot of Future Tech presented their approach to 'Fresh Air Cooling' referred to by the EPA report as 'outside air economiser' and demostrated how by using external air when outside temperatures permit an example data centre could save 30% of its total electricity cost as well as reducing their environmental impact.
Liam Newcombe of the DCSG presented an overview of the EPA draft report to congress on data centre energy efficiency. This was intended as a guide to the report to assist in understanding what is covered and how the report fits in with the UK government white papers and EU data centre Code of Conduct. |
